Abstract:Based on the weldability theoretical analyzing, the maximum hardness of welding heat-affected zone (HAZ),small Y type cracking and butt welded joint series temperature impact of 500 MPa high performance steel were tested. The results showed, when the carbon equivalent CEV and Pcm of test steel are 0.44 and 0.18 percent, the maximum hardness of HAZ under room temperature is 274 HV10, when the thickness of steel plate is less than or equal to 32 mm, no preheating process is needed, else when more than 32 mm but less than 60 mm, the preheating process is necessary and preheating temperature is 80 ℃. The ductility brittleness transition temperature ETT50 of HAZ achieve at-60 ℃,which shows the toughness is very well. By mentioned above, that weldability of test steel plate perform well, the test steel can be used in construction of high performance bridges.
