Abstract:The new high-rise buildings steel Q420GJC with low yield/tension ratio and high strength were developed using Nb-Ti microalloying as well as controlled rolling and cooling process. The performances of the tensile, impact, microstructure and welding of the steel were tested. The results showed that the microstructure of the steel is composed of more than 50%ferrite and pearlite, the steel has excellent comprehensive properties:the yield/tension ratio is less than 0.81, the Rm is more than 560 MPa and can meet the requirements of high-rise buildings structure steel. The steel has been successfully implemented in engineering.
