Core Collapse Defect and Solutions in Development of Extremely Thin Galvanized Substrate
WANG Le
Abstract:Based on the core collapse defect in development of extremely thin galvanized substrate, the force situation and plastic deformation between layers of the offline coil was analysed. The root cause of this defect was that the radial stress distributed evenly and circumferentially among plate layers was larger than yield strength of the weak location. By means of a series of measures, including reducing the designed winding tension, improving friction coefficient between layers, lowering the rolling temperature, raising the operation skill, and optimizing the startup tension system, the radial stress was minimized, and the critical buckling stress was maximized. In this way, the core collapse defect in offline coil was controlled effectively.
