Smelting Practice of Economic Ore in Laiwu Steel’s 1080 m3 BF

Abstract：The state of the blast furnace was fluctuated largerly due to the high proportion of adding economic ore in Laiwu Steel. The abnormal furnace condition such as hanging and setting of charge were appeared frequently. Some measures included strengthening the basic management, improving the slag property, controlling the ratio of aluminum and magnesium, controlling the activity of the hearth and strengthening the organization of the furnace production were taken. And then the stable operation of the furnace was ensured. The balanced and efficient production was achieved. The capacity of the production was promoted from 2 600 t/d to 3 200 t/d. The coke rate was reduced from 380 kg/t to 330 kg/t. The cost of the fuel was reduced and the cost of the pig iron was reduced nearly 10 million yuan annual.
