Study on Causes of Burrs and Deburring Technology in the Powder Metallurgy Parts

Abstract：The existence of burrs has great influence on the quality, performance and application scope of powder metallurgy parts. This article systematically discussed and analyzed the produced cause of burr on power metallurgy part from five aspects included mold assembly gap, mold manufacturing precision, mold damage, mold installation and precision of equipment and also comparatively analyzed some of the commonly used techniques for deburring such as roll grinding, polishing, sandblasting and heating. In addition, the potential developments of deburring of powder metallurgy parts are put forward in this paper.
