Abstract：The double-nozzle protective casting process for beam blank caster was realized by the design of tundish, nozzle, slide bracket and refractory of near-net-shape beam-blank continuous caster. The method is simple and easy operation, having the advantages of optimizing the work environment, reducing the production costs, and preventing liquid steel secondary oxidizing . Comparing with open casting process, the average nitrogen content of rolled products reduced 12 × 10-6 and the average oxygen content of rolled products reduced 10 × 10-6 by using protective casting process. The process provides technology support for high quality H-beam production.
