Development of S 355NL Ultra-thick Plate for Offshore Platform in Laiwu Steel

Abstract：Adopting Nb, V and Ti micro-alloying, applying controlled rolling and normalizing processes, through the rational design of chemical composition and the process operations of strictly controlling the steel making and steel rolling and other processes, S355NL ultra-thick plates for offshore platform with the thicknesses of 117 mm and 122 mm were developed in Laiwu Steel. Each performance index of the product meets the needs of the Standard EN 10025-3:2004 and users. Especially, it has favorable low temperature impact properties and excellent performance in the thickness direction. Now Batch production is underway.
