Abstract：Fault alarms often appear in the driving system for the narrow side of mold in the No.1 continuous caster in 120 region of the Medium Plate Plant of Jinan Steel. We take systemic measures to avoid frequent driving alarm, for example, avoiding or reducing the tundish quick-change technology, strengthening equipment spot inspection and doing the shielding protection of the control signal line well. After the system reformation, fault alarms of mold narrow side were significantly reduced and the number of unplanned shutdowns was decreased. So it improves the production efficiency and ensures the stable operation of continuous caster.
