Abstract:Heparin-and Chondroitin sulfate -based nanoparticles were synthesized in this study for biofunctional modification of 316L SS surface. The physical and chemical properties of NPs and NPs modified surface were characterized with laser particle size a -nalysis, FTIR, AFM and water contact angle assay .In vitro blood compatibility and cellular compatibility were carried out to investi-gate the influence of two kinds of NPs on surface biocompatibility .According to the result , two kinds of NPs were found to effectively prevent platelet adhesion and aggregation .The heparin-based nanoparticle modified surface , however , may inhibit the proliferation ac-tivity of endothelial cells (ECs), while the chondroitin sulfate-based nanoparticles is found to stimulate ECs adhesion and proliferation .
