In vitro Cytotoxicity of Activated Carbon Fiber Dressing Products

Abstract：Activated carbon fiber is widely used in medical and health field because of its high adsorption properties.L -929 mouse fibroblasts were evaluated by MTT assay after incubation with a series of extracts to find suitable extraction method in vitro cyto-toxicity for activated carbon products.The results show that due to the strong adsorption of activated carbon fiber,compared with tradi-tional serum containing cell culture medium as extraction vehicle,a method using serum -free medium as extraction vehicle with adding 10% serum medium to the extracts is more suitable for evaluation of cytotoxicity in vitro for activated carbon products.
