Bioabsorbable Coating Patch:A Study on Cytotoxicity and Genotoxicity
FU Mingjie
Abstract:Before the bioabsorbable coating patch can be applied in clinics, a series of biological evaluation must be taken to en-sure its safety, which includes cytotoxicity and genotoxicity study as its in vitro screening part.In the cytotoxicity study, tested cells were exposed to the extraction of the patch to trigger a cytotoxicity reaction. When the concentration of extraction was 1.5 cm2/ml, the reaction level was 1;When the concentration was 3 cm2/ml, the level was 2.Genotoxicity study was consisted of bacterial reverse mu-tation test and in vitro mammalian chromosome aberration test. The result of the former test demonstrates that the extraction causes no mutagenicity in tested strains of salmonella typhimurium. In the latter test, the cell growth rate of any treatment group and the rate of negative control group are at the same level, which indicates the patch causes no chromosome aberration.
