Abstract:[Objective]By applying scientifically effective biological control techniques in combination with other non-polluting control methods, the pest population density of the pine crane beetle can be reduced.[Method]The field control efficacy of Dastarcus helophoroides against Monochamus alternatus and the overwintering situation of D.helophoroides population were systematically investigated in this paper.[Result]The results showed that D.helophoroides could parasitize the larvae, pupae, and adults of M.alternatus, with an average parasitism rate of 74.92%.Among which the parasitism effect on pupae was the best, with an average parasitism rate of 48.43%and a progeny output of 8.84 individuals per M.alternatus.In terms of spatial distribution, the vertical distribution range of D.helophoroides within Pinus massoniana tree was positively correlated with the distribution of M.alternatus, mainly in the middle and lower parts of the tree trunk, with an average distribution rate of 92.64%.Overwintering experiments indicated that D.helophoroides achieved the highest overwintering survival rate of 91.67%in the galleries of M.alternatus, which was significantly superior to other overwintering modes.[Conclusion]The research findings provide a scientific basis for large-scale field application of D.helophoroides in sustainable management of M.alternatus and pine wilt disease.
