Abstract:Pine Wilt Disease(PWD)is a major disease threat to global forest ecosystems and is caused by the pine wood nematode(Bursaphelenchus xylophilus).Conventional chemical control agents, such as abamectin(AVM),are hindered by poor permeability, inefficient translocation, and limited sustained-release capabilities, which collectively undermine their effectiveness.Recent breakthroughs in nano-drug delivery systems offer a promising strategy to overcome these challenges. This review highlights the development of nanotechnology-based targeted control systems, wherein surface-modified nanocarriers enable specific recognition and enhanced penetration into host tissues.Furthermore, the use of mesoporous materials with tunable pore sizes and functionalized surfaces facilitates the construction of stimulus-responsive sustained-release systems, significantly improving drug release profiles and translocation efficiency.Studies demonstrate that AVM-loaded nanoparticles achieve a 60%improvement in distribution uniformity within pine trees and extend the duration of efficacy by four.Additionally, this article introduces an innovative"integrated prevention network"that combines nanocarriers with insect pheromones and biological control agents.By encapsulating bioactive compounds, this approach enables spatiotemporal coordination among physical, chemical, and biological control methods. The proposed system provides a theoretical foundation for overcoming current limitations in PWD management and suggests new directions for controlling endophytic pests and diseases in forest ecosystems.
