Abstract:To investigate the preservation effects of the inorganic bactericide Nano-copper(NC)treatment on cut peony flowers, this study evaluated the postharvest responses of the cut peony cultivar'Da Fu Gui'to four NC concentrations(2,4,8,and 10 mg·L-1).The results showed that, compared to the control group,NC treatments effectively increased flower diameter, enhanced relative water content, and maintained water balance. The relative conductivity and malondialdehyde(MDA)content in NC-treatment flowers increased initially and then decreased, ultimately remaining lower than in the control. This indicates that NC treatments help to inhibit the increase in cell membrane permeability, protect the integrity of the cell membrane, and delay the senescence process of cut peony flowers.During the vase period, the activities of catalase(CAT)and peroxidase(POD)under the 10 mg/L-1 NC treatment were consistently higher than those in control, effectively enhancing the antioxidant capacity and mitigating oxidative stress. These results demonstrate that 10 mg/L-1 NC treatment most effectively delays senescence and maintains the postharvest quality of cut peony, providing a theoretical basis for cut flowers preservation.
