Abstract:Reasonably evaluating the natural ecological quality of forest resource reserves plays an important role in alleviating forest environmental degradation and maintaining the balance of nature. This study proposes a natural ecological quality assessment model for forest resource reserves based on remote sensing images.Based on the overview of the research area,a natural ecological quality evaluation index system for forest resource protection areas is established from the perspectives of terrain, soil conditions, forest conditions, and socio-economic conditions. The Analytic Hierarchy Process is used to construct a natural ecological quality evaluation model for forestry resource protection areas, thereby achieving natural ecological quality evaluation. The simulation results of the evaluation model show that ancient woodland is better than mixed forest in terms of health status and structure and function values, while plantation is the worst; There is a significant difference in the proportion of natural ecological quality grades(superior, medium, and inferior)in the selected forest resource protection areas, with a higher proportion being inferior. The comprehensive evaluation index is 0.5662,indicating that the natural ecological quality of the forest resource protection area is generally good, and there is still room for improvement, which is in line with the preset evaluation results. This indicates that the evaluation model designed in this article has achieved application results.
