Abstract:Using wild peas, ryegrass, and alfalfa as experimental materials, the effects of compound salt-alkali stress(mixed with NaCl and NaHCO3 in a ratio of 1∶1)on seed germination(germination rate, potential, index)and seedling growth(growth rate, malondialdehyde content, chlorophyll content, and root activity)of three orchard grass species were studied, and salt-alkali tolerant grass species were screened. The results showed that during the seed germination period, with the increase of salt-alkali concentration, the average germination time of grass seeds showed an extended trend, while indicators such as germination rate, germination potential, and germination index showed a downward trend;Under the same salt alkali concentration, ryegrass showed the strongest resistance, whereas alfalfa does not germinate.During the seedling growth period, with the increase of salt-alkali concentration, the aboveground and underground growth, chlorophyll content, and root activity of the three grass species showed a downward trend, while the content of malondialdehyde showed an upward trend.Overall, ryegrass showed the strongest resistance to complex salt-alkali stress, followed by wild peas, and alfalfa being the weakest.
