Abstract:This study examined the effects of the"9.5"Luding earthquake on plant diversity and aboveground carbon stocks by comparing landslide-disturbed forest communities with undisturbed control sites(with similar stand structures). The results showed that:(1)There was no significant difference in plant diversity indices between landslide and non-landslide conditions, and the Margalef index,Simpson index and Shannon-Wiener index of the non-landslide site were higher than those of the landslide site, while the Pielou index showed an inverse pattern.(2)There was a significant difference in the aboveground carbon stocks in landslide and non-landslide site. The aboveground carbon stocks on non-landslide sites was higher than that in landslides, and the carbon stocks in landslides was decreasing over time.
