Abstract:This review examines the ecological adaptation mechanisms of Pinus thunbergii in coastal environments and its performance in stress tolerance physiology.Multiple stresses in coastal environments, such as salinity, high wind and sand, drought and intense light, pose severe challenges to the growth of Pinus thunbergii.Pinus thunbergii responds effectively to these unfavorable factors through a series of physiological mechanisms, such as osmoregulation, antioxidant enzyme systems, and increased water use efficiency. Its unique leaf structure and root adaptability not only enhance the efficiency of light energy capture, but also strengthen the soil fixation capacity in windy and sandy environments. In addition, black pine enhances nutrient uptake efficiency in interactions with soil microorganisms.Future research should focus on the gene regulatory mechanism of Pinus thunbergii to reveal the expression characteristics of salt and drought tolerance genes,as well as to further investigate its adaptation under climate change scenarios to support the construction of coastal protection forests and ecological restoration.
