Practice and Innovation of Viaduct Flower Box Greening Technology in Wuxi Urban Area

Abstract：This paper delves into the practical journey,innovative points,and future development directions of the viaduct flower box greening technology in Wuxi urban area.As a prominent city in the Yangtze River Delta economic circle,Wuxi has achieved remarkable accomplishments in the field of viaduct greening.Through systematic solutions,Wuxi has overcome challenges such as drainage issues,inefficient management water and fertilizer,and irregular pruning techniques,achieving large-scale and systematic management of viaduct greening.At first,the paper introduces the original state and existing problems of Wuxi's viaduct greening,including poor drainage,low efficiency in water and fertilizer management,and unstandardized pruning practices.It then elaborates on Wuxi's innovative practices in plant variety selection and optimization,drip irrigation system innovation,and drainage system upgrades,such as introducing multi-breed roses and foliage plants,adopting intelligent drip irrigation systems,and designing semi-embedded flower boxes.Furthermore,the paper looks ahead to the future development directions of Wuxi's viaduct flower box greening,encompassing rose variety innovation,optimization of water and fertilizer management systems,and enhanced greening maintenance management.Finally,the paper concludes by highlighting the advanced nature and exemplary significance of Wuxi's viaduct flower box greening technology,providing valuable experience and inspiration for other cities.
