Research on Spatial Zoning of Ecological Service Cluster Functions in Shengjin Lake Wetland based on Self-organizing Mapping(SOM)

Abstract:With rapid development of urbanization and ecomony, wetland ecosystems are under significant threat, which adversely affects their ecological service functions.Identifying clusters of ecosystem services is essential for the effective regional management and optimization of these services. This study examined the spatiotemporal changes in net primary productivity(NPP),carbon storage, habitat quality, and water yield in Shengjin Lake by analyzing TM remote sensing imagery from 2000,2010,and 2020,utilizing the InVEST model and R programming tools. The Self-Organizing Feature Map(SOFM)technique was employed to identify ecosystem service clusters and perform functional zoning. The findings indicated that from 2000 to 2020,the areas of forest and dry land in Shengjin Lake had significantly decreased, while grasslands, paddy fields, mudflats, and construction areas notably increased.NPP and water yield showed an upward trend, whereas habitat quality and carbon storage have declined. The SOFM analysis identified four distinct ecosystem service clusters:critical synergy zones, carbon storage-NPP synergy zones, key habitat protection zones, and core urban development zones. This study's identification and zoning of ecosystem service clusters facilitate the balanced development of wetland protection and economic growth, offering crucial theoretical insights and practical guidance for the optimization and sustainable management of wetland ecosystem services.
