Abstract:Since Inner Mongolia is an important ecological security barrier in northern China, the study of vegetation dynamic change and driving factors in Inner Mongolia is of great significance for regional ecological environment construction and sustainable development.Based on Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)data from 1982 to 2022 in Inner Mongolia, the effects of climate change and human activities on vegetation dynamics were analyzed. The results indicated that the average annual NDVI showed a fluctuating upward trend, with a growth rate of 0.004/10 a,and the growth rate from 2000 to 2022 was significantly faster than that from 1982 to 1999.Spatially,the area of significantly increased area(58.49%)was much higher than that of significantly degraded area(9.95%),and the degraded area was mainly concentrated in the northern Xing'an Mountains and its eastern foothills. The lag and cumulative effects of air temperature and precipitation on NDVI varied with different vegetation types. The lag effect of air temperature on grassland was the most significant, while the cumulative effect of precipitation on deciduous coniferous forest was the longest. The contribution rate of climate change and human activities to the change of NDVI was 0.003/10 a,respectively. The promotion effect of climate change on vegetation increase was significantly higher than that of human activities, and the interpretation of climate factors on NDVI change increased by 5.35%after considering lag and cumulative effects.
