Abstract:Pinus thumbergii is a species with strong salinity tolerance and adaptability to adversity, and is often used in the construction of coastal protection forests in warm temperate zones.Su100 is a beneficial endophytic fungus from the root system of blueberries, which belongs to the genus Mollisia sp..In order to evaluate the potential of Su100 in improving the salt tolerance of trees,we selected P.thumbergii seedlings in this study and determined whether Su100 could colonize in the roots of P.thumbergii and enhance the salt tolerance of P.thumbergii seedlings. The results showed that Su100 could colonize the roots of P.thumbergii and promote the growth of P.thumbergii seedlings under salt stress by increasing the accumulation of organic matter through promoting the photosynthetic rate, and at the same time enhance the activity of antioxidant enzymes SOD and POD in P.thumbergii seedlings to reduce the accumulation of malondialdehyde content, thus improving their salt tolerance. The results of this study provide theoretical basis for the application of Su100 in the improvement of saline soil and the sustainable construction of coastal forest protection system.
