Abstract：Extracellular polymers(EPS)are organic polymers formed by microorganisms through metabolism and cell autolysis.They are widely present in nature and serve as efficient adsorbents with good biodegradability and environmental-friendly.In recent years,it has been widely applied in the field of ecology.This article mainly revi ewed the characteristics,mechanism of action,and ecological applications of extracellular polymers.
