Genetic diversity of Ulmus pimila L. clones by AFLP
Abstract:The genetic diversity of 57 Ulmus pirnila L. clones are tested by AFLP. 8 primer combinations selected from 64 primer combinations produce a total of 1092 fragments, 1065 of which are polymorphic with a polymorphism percentage of 97.53%. It suggests that Ulmus pimila L. has a rich genetic diversity. The molecular genetic similarity coefficients rang from 0. 4266 to 0. 7989, and that the average being 0. 6114indicates that genetic variation occurs among them. All of Ulmus pimila L. are clustered into 11 groups with UPGMA, and the clones originated the same place don't distribute in the same group total- ly. It indicates that there is no strict relationship between the variation and geographic origin of the black pine clones. This study provides the reference for the genetic background and the genetic structure of Ulmus pirnila L. , and also provide the ba- sis for the utilization of the germplase of Ulmus pimila Linn..
