Waterfowl population change in Yellow River Delta
Abstract:A total of 403992 counts in 107 species were recorded in the monthly waterbird surveys in yellow river delta from January 2008 to December 2009.256385 counts in 102 species were recorded in 2008 and 147607 counts in 106 species in 2009.Threatened species recorded were 17604 counts in 11 species in 2008 and 10695 in 12 species in 2009.The high population number happened during March to May and during October to December which shows a hyperbola trend.The high number of species is in April and October.The cold climate in January and February 2009 affected waterfowl directly which lead to species and number fell down sharply.In the end,this article analyzed important waterfowl change,such as geese and ducks,rails,shorebirds,gulls,herons,cranes and storks.
