Automatic Identification and Implementation of Water Pedestrian Crossing in Ferry Areas Based on AIS Information

Abstract：In order to reduce the risks of collision with other ships, a design which can automatically identifie water pedestrian crossing based on AIS information is proposed. The specific implementation suggestions is further given according to the current navigational equipments in the shipping industry and the actual situations around ferry areas. The scheme is based on AIS data processing and identification, utilization of the AIS MESSAGE function, VHF automatic voice broadcast to send real-time early warning. Therefore, the automatic identification of water pedestrian crossing is achieved.
