Abstract:The impact of cooled EGR ( Exhaust Gas Recirculation ) system on the diesel engine exhaust emissions is studied. Under different load conditions, the experiments are done on a turbocharged diesel engine R4105ZD. Three systems (no-EGR,hot EGR and cooled EGR) are applied respectively. The paper examines the emission patterns of NOx ,HC and CO under three different experimental conditions to study and analyze the effect of cooling EGR temperature on NOx emission. Experimental results show that, compared with no-EGR system and hot EGR system, cooled EGR system can better reduce diesel engine NOx and CO′s emissions without any significant impact on HC emission. The optimal EGR′s cooled temperature is about 55 ℃.
