Transformation Technology for Earth Pressure Balance Shield Tool of Waterless Sandy Gravel

Abstract：This paper analyzes the causes of severe tool wear in the construction of the spoke type of earth pressure balance ( EPB) shield crossing the fracture surface of waterless sandy gravel layer. Then, it presents the idea that the hobs are removed, the tools are transformed and also reconfigured according to the design principles of the cutting layer. Furthermore, it also studies the general idea of tool transformation, the comparative analysis before and after the tool transformation and the contrast of the excavation effect after the transformation. It is concluded that it is feasible to transform and configure the tools. The results show that the transformed tools and the tools configured according to the hierarchical cutting design principle have good cutting effects. The paper provides a new method for the transformation and configuration of the construction tools of waterless sandy pebble earth pressure balance shield of subways.
