Research on Properties of Alkali-Activated Slag Mortar

Abstract：For the preparation of the alkali-activated slag mortar by the granulated blast furnace slag instead of the natural sand, this paper studies the properties of its compressive strength, plastic shrinkage and carbonation resistance. The researching result shows that when the natural sand is replaced by the blast furnace slag to prepare the alkali-activated slag mortar which is better than the Portland cement mortar, the alkali-activated slag mortar reduces the compressive strength but increases the plastic shrinkage resistance, and limited by the nature of alkali-activated material itself, it almost has no influence on the carbonation resistance.
