The Effect of Aggregate Property on Shear Performance of Asphalt Mixture

Abstract：Beginning with the aggregate characteristics , this article analyzes the effect of different types and characteristics of aggregate on the shear performance of AC-13 asphalt mixture through the uniaxial penetration test and triaxial compression test .The research shows that the shear properties of basalt asphalt mixture is better than those of limestone and meanwhile the basalt asphalt mixture reduces the acicular content , crushing value as well as abrasion value , and also increases the angularity .Furthermore , the basalt asphalt mixture can improve the cohesion and internal friction angle of asphalt mixture and the shear performance of asphalt mixture as well .
