Practice of Replicating Ming Dynasty Tomb Costumes Based on Digital Technology

Abstract:The excavation report of the Liu Jian family tomb and the clothing system of the Ming Dynasty were analyzed,the cotton long gown unearthed from the Liu Jian family tomb was selected as the research subject,various methods were employed,including digitalization,drawing techniques,pattern extraction,style and structure replication,CLO3D visualization,and garment-making experi-ments.A digital replication of the cotton long gown was completed,and physical garment replication experiment was conducted.It was concluded that the integration of modern technology and traditional culture could visually reconstruct the shape,structure,patterns,and colors of historical clothing.This approach not only improved the preservation of clothing artifacts by minimizing physical wear but also retained digital data for future study.Such efforts were of profound significance for the inher-itance,protection,and development of chinese outstanding clothing culture.
