Abstract：Through the analysis of ancient and modern literature,this study discussed the crafts-manship and techniques of ancient silk spinning,silk weaving,painting,dyeing,and printing,aiming to understand and inherit the ancient silk dyeing techniques.The research results indicated that the dyeing techniques described in the Kaogongji not only possess strong scientific nature but also most of them have been passed down to up to now,have made significant contributions to the development of China's silk industry.Therefore,they are worthy of being inherited and referenced in modern silk dyeing culture.
