Abstract:Regenerated polyester staple fibers of 1.56 dtex×38 mm,2.22 dtex×38 mm and 3.33 dtex×38 mm were used as raw materials to comb the fibre webs with different surface densi-ties.The spunlaced fibers were made by cross-laying method, and the composite nonwovens with wa-terproof and moisture permeability were prepared by double-faced finishing process. The micro-mor-phology was observed and the tensile and tearing properties, water contact angle, moisture permeabil-ity and air permeability, hydrostatic pressure resistance and water staining grade were tested. The re-sults show that after finishing, hydrophilic surface fibers become smooth, hydrophobic surface fibers become rough, breaking strength and tearing strength are increased, breaking elongation and tearing elongation are decreased.Hydrophilic surface water contact angle is decreased, hydrophobic surface water contact angle is increased, moisture permeability is increased, air permeability is decreased,hy-drostatic pressure values are more than 4 kPa,water contamination grade is more than 4 kPa,which meets the requirements of engineering waterproof and moisture permeable materials.
