Abstract:In order to explore the decadal variability of the precipitation series of Beijing,we made use of the annual precipitation series of Beijing restored by Zhang DE 'er from 1 725 to 1 904 and prolonged it until 201 2. We also did mutation tests and wavelet analysis on the annual precipitation series of Beijing from 1 725 to 201 2, and found that it has more than one jump point, and periods of 20 ~22 a,32 ~36 a,and 80 ~90 a.Pacific SST and PDO have important effects on atmospheric circulation in the Northern Hemisphere, and also play an important role on the rainfall in the north of China.Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition is adopt-ed in this paper to decompose the Nio3 index from 1 870 to 201 2 and it is found that the Nio3 index has the periodicity on different timescales. In order to study the Pacific SST decadal impact on the rainfall of Beijing, we used the cross wavelet transform method to analyze the cross relationship between the two series from multiple time scales, and found the precipitation of Beijing has a strong coherence resonance period of 1 6 ~24 a with the Nio3 index, and strong coherence resonance periods of 1 6 ~24 a and 30 ~40 a with the PDO.
