Effect of Emotional Management and Psychological Empowerment Nursing Program on Relieving the Stress Perception of Mothers in NICU

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of emotional management and psychological empowerment nursing program on relieving the stress perception of mothers in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU).Methods:A total of 102 mothers of NICU infants who were diagnosed and treated from January 1,2022 to December 31,2023 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table meth-od,they were divided into the control group and the study group,with 51 mothers in each group.The routine nursing program was taken in the control group,and emotional management and psychological empowerment nursing program was applied in the study group.The psycho-logical resilience(CD-RISC),parenting stress(PSI-SF)and parenting sense of competence(PSOC)were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.Results:After 8 weeks of intervention,the scores of optimism,strength and tenacity and the total score of CD-RISC in the two groups were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05),and those in the study group were higher than the control group(P<0.01).After 8 weeks of intervention,the scores of infants in need,parent-child interaction disorder,parental distress and the to-tal score of PSI-SF in the two groups were lower than those before intervention(P<0.05),and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01).After 8 weeks of intervention,the satisfaction,efficacy scores and total score of PSOC in the two groups were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05),and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The application of emotional management and psychological empowerment nursing program in mothers of NICU infants can improve their psychological resilience,relieve parenting stress,and enhance parenting sense of competence.
