Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of continuous nursing care combined with peer education in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods:A total of 65 elderly patients with hypertension admitted from March 1,2023 to March 1,2024 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into the reference group(32 cases)and the experimental group(33 cases). The reference group was given continuous nursing care, and the experimental group was given additional peer education. The mastery of disease-related knowledge, blood pressure level,self-care ability(ESCA),self-efficacy(GSES)and quality of life(HPLP-Ⅱ)of the patients were evaluated and the in-cidence of adverse events was observed in the two groups. Results:After intervention, the score of disease-related knowledge in the experi-mental group was higher than that in the reference group(P<0.05,P<0.01).After intervention, the blood pressure index level in the ex-perimental group was lower than that in the reference group(P<0.01).After intervention, the scores of ESCA,GSES and HPLP-Ⅱ in the experimental group were higher than those in the reference group(P<0.05,P<0.01).The incidence of adverse events in the experimental group was lower than that in the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The continuous nursing care combined with peer education for eld-erly patients with hypertension can help improve the mastery of disease-related knowledge, control blood pressure, enhance self-care ability, improve self-efficacy and quality of life, and reduce the occurrence of adverse events.
