Analysis of the Training Effectiveness of the Specialized Nurses in Nursing Speciality of Diabetes and Geriatrics based on Kirkpatrick Model

Abstract:Objective:To assess the training effectiveness of the specialized nurses in nursing speciality of diabetes and geriatrics based on Kirkpatrick model so as to provide a basis for improving the professional level and service quality of the specialized nurses in nursing care of diabetes and geriatrics.Methods:A total of 52 eligible specialized nurses in a Grade Ⅲ-A hospital from July 1,2023 to January 31,2024 were selected as the research objects,and they received the training of speciality in diabetes combined with geriatrics based on Kirk-wall model.The training content included theoretical knowledge,clinical skills,psychological support,health education,etc.The training time was 6 months.The knowledge questionnaire,skill operation rating scale and core competence self-rating scale for nurses were used to compare the theoretical mastery,skills and core competence of nurses before and after training.Results:After the training,the scores of the-oretical knowledge,skill operation and core competence of nurses were higher than those before the training(P<0.01).The satisfaction of nurses and the evaluation rate of self and organizational development were high.Conclusion:The training of the specialized nurses in nurs-ing speciality of diabetes and geriatrics based on Kirkpatrick model can effectively improve the knowledge level,skill level,core compe-tence,self and organizational development of the nurses.It is regarded as an effective training model.
