Effects of Family Empowerment Program on the Care Ability of Main Caregivers of Children with CCHD after Palliative Surgery

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effects of family empowerment program on the care ability of main caregivers of children with com-plex congenital heart disease(CCHD)after palliative surgery.Methods:A total of 60 main caregivers of children with CCHD after palliative surgery for the first time,from June 1,2022 to April 1,2024,were selected by the convenient sampling method,the caregivers were divided into an observation group and a control group,with 30 in each group.The control group was given routine health guidance of nursing care,and the observation group was additionally provided intervention of family empowerment program.The care ability(FCTI)and care readi-ness of the main caregivers were compared between the two groups.Results:When discharged from hospital,the scores of FCTI and care readiness of the two groups were higher than those on admission(P<0.05),and the scores in the observation group were higher than the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The family empowerment program for the main caregivers of children with CCHD after palliative sur-gery can effectively improve the care readiness and care ability of caregivers,help families of the children establish a scientific and effective care program,and can promote the rehabilitation of children with CCHD after palliative surgery.
