Effect of Psychological Measures Based on Relaxation Training Combined with Comfort Care on Elderly Cancer Patients

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of psychological measures based on relaxation training combined with comfort care on elderly cancer patients.Methods:100 elderly cancer patients treated from January 1,2019 to December 31,2022 were selected and divided into obser-vation group and control group according to random number table method,with 50 cases in each group.The routine nursing care was given in the control group and the psychological measures based on relaxation training combined with comfort care were applied in the observation group.The pain degree(VAS),cancer-related fatigue degree(CFS),quality of life(QLQ-C30),anxiety and depression degree(SAS and SDS)were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.Results:After intervention,VAS,CFS,SAS and SDS scores in both groups were lower than those before intervention(P<0.01),and the scores in the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.01).After intervention,the total quality of life,physical function,role function and emotional function scores of QLQ-C30 in both groups were higher than those before intervention and than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The psychological measures based on re-laxation training combined with comfort care can effectively relieve pain and fatigue in elderly cancer patients and improve quality of life.
