Effect of Palliative Care under the Guidance of KAP Theory in Patients with Advanced Colorectal Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of palliative care under the guidance of KAP theory in patients with advanced colorectal cancer undergoing chemotherapy.Methods:A total of 90 patients admitted from August 1,2019 to December 31,2022 were selected,and according to the random number table method,they were divided into the study group and the control group with 45 cases in each group.The control group received routine care.The study group received palliative care under the guidance of KAP theory.The PFS,NRS,HAMD,HAMA,PANAS,ESCA,SF-36,the incidence of complications,nursing satisfaction and medication compliance were compared be-tween the two groups before and after the intervention.Results:After intervention,the PFS,NRS,HAMD,HAMA,and NA scores were lower in both groups before intervention(P<0.05),and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).The scores of ESCA,SF-36,and PA were higher in both groups after intervention than those before intervention(P<0.05),and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).The incidence of complications during the intervention period was lower in the study group than that in the control group(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction and medication compliance rates in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Palliative care under the guidance of the KAP theory can improve the negative emotion and bad psychological state,reduce pain and fatigue,improve self-care ability,quality of life,nursing satisfaction and med-ication compliance in patients with advanced colorectal cancer chemotherapy,and reduce the occurrence of complications.
