Effect of Lifestyle Intervention on Patients with Bipolar Disorder Complicated with Metabolic Syndrome
Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of lifestyle intervention on patients with bipolar disorder complicated with metabolic syndrome, and to provide reference for early intervention and prevention measures. Methods: A total of 62 patients with bipolar disorder complicated with metabolic syndrome were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, 31 cases in each group. The intervention group was given lifestyle intervention for 3 months, while the control group was given routine nursing and education. The quality of life was assessed by World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF) at the time of admission and at the end of the third month. The waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood sugar and blood lipid levels were compared between the two groups. Results: At the end of the third month, the waist circumference, fasting blood sugar, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05) , and the intervention group was lower than those in the control group at the same time (P < 0.05). At the end of the third month, the total score of WHOQOL-BREF in the intervention group was significantly higher than that at the time of admission (P < 0.01) , and that in the intervention group was higher than that in the control group at the same time (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Lifestyle intervention can effectively improve the metabolic indicators of patients with bipolar disorder and metabolic syndrome, and improve the quality of life of patients, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
