Correlation between Medication Compliance and Discharge Guidance Quality in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the compliance of chronic heart failure patients with medication and discharge guidance needs and actual access to the content of the status quo, and explore the correlation between them. Methods: Morisky Medication Compliance Scale (MMAS) and Quality of Discharge Guidance Scale (QDTS) were used to investigate the compliance and quality of discharge guidance of160 patients with chronic heart failure in a tertiary general hospital in Binzhou from October 2016 to September 2017. The correlation between them was analyzed by Spearman analysis. Results: The score of compliance with medication was (7.13 ± 0.781). The score of discharge guidance needs was (42.84 ± 12.26). The score of discharge guidance was (40.98 ± 14.68). The score of demand was higher than the obtained score (P < 0.05). The scores of patients' discharge instruction skills and effects were between 8.14 and 8.96, and the overall discharge quality score was (157.44 ± 19.01). There was a positive correlation between medication adherence and quality of discharge guidance (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Discharge guidance quality score is closely related to medication compliance. Discharge guidance should be given according to patients' age, duration of disease, knowledge of heart failure and beliefs related to medication. Individualized medication plans should be established through follow-up, supervision and formulation of personalized medication plans to improve patients' medication compliance.
