Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of transitional care mode on lung function, blood gas analysis and quality of life in patients with COPD combined with respiratory failure using non-invasive ventilator. Methods: Seventy patients with COPD and respiratory failure were enrolled in the study. All patients were treated with non-invasive ventilator after discharge. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by digital randomization method. The control group received routine nursing measures. The observation group adopted a transitional care model. Pulmonary function, blood gas analysis and quality of life were compared between the two groups after 6months. Results: The forced expiratory volume (FVE1) and FVE1/FVC (forced vital capacity) in the observation group were better than the control group in one second (P < 0.05). Blood oxygen partial pressure (Pa O2) and carbon dioxide partial pressure (Pa CO2) were better in the blood gas analysis than in the control group (P < 0.05). The physical quality, mental state, social function, emotional function, and total score of the Health Survey Summary (SF-36) were superior to those of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Transitional nursing model can effectively improve the lung function and quality of life of COPD patients with respiratory failure. It has high clinical application value and is recommended for promotion.
