Application of Continuous Quality Improvement Model in Patients with Automated Peritoneal Dialysis
Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of continuous quality improvement ( CQI) model in patients with automated perito-neal dialysis ( APD) .Methods:A total of 57 cases with APD in nephrology department was implemented the CQI model .3 months after the implementation, patients were evaluated with fluid balance management [diastolic blood pressure(DBP),systolic blood pressure(SBP), heart rate(HR),cardiothoracic ratio, serum brain natriuretic titanium precursor(NT-proBNP),and whether there is edema],blood dialysis adequacy [serum phosphate(P),parathyroid hormone(iPTH),corrected calcium and peritoneal creatinine clearance rate (Ccr),residual kidney Ccr ,peritoneal urea clearance index ( Kt/V) ,residual kidney Kt/V] ,and changes of quality of life .Results:After the intervention , there was statistically significant difference in patients with DBP ,SBP,HR and cardiothoracic ratio ,the level of serum NT-proBNP,Ccr and Kt/V in residual kidney before and after the intervention (P<0.01,P<0.05).There was statistically significant difference in the level of corrected calcium, peritoneal Kt/V and quality of life scores(P<0.01,P<0.05),and the incidence of edema after intervention was sig-nificantly lower than that before the intervention (P<0.01).Conclusion:CQI model can improve the management of fluid balance in APD patients and improve the adequacy of dialysis and the quality of life .
