Abstract:Objective:To investigate the quality of life of postpartum women during hospitalization, and to analyze the influence of gener-al demographic factors and the relationship between quality of life and postpartum depression,so as to provide basis for improving the quali-ty of maternal care during hospitalization. Methods:A total of 977 delivery women in a hospital of Shanghai in 2016 were selected. The quality of life(QOL)and depression were investigated by quality of life scale(SF-36)and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS). Results:The general health status(GH),energy(VR)and mental health(MH)score of cesarean section women were lower than those of normal delivery women(P<0.01).There were significant differences in the scores of physiological function(PF)between primiparas with or without abortion history and those with or without miscarriage(P<0.05).There were significant differences in mental health(MH) scores between elderly puerpera and non-advanced maternal age puerpera(P<0.05).The physiological function(RP),GH,VR,emotional function(RE)and MH scores of the higher educated women were higher than those of the less educated(P<0.01).The scores of VR and RE in residential puerperae were higher than those of non-residential puerperae(P<0.01),and the scores of somatic pain(BP)and VR in breastfeeding mothers were higher than those of non-breastfeeding mothers(P<0.05,P<0.01).There was statistically significant differ-ence of PF,RP,body pain(BP),GH,VR,social function(SF),RE and MH8 between depressive puerperae and normal puerperea(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the 8 dimensions of maternal quality of life within 7 d after birth(P<0.01),the highest phys-iological function, followed by mental health and general health, and the lowest physiological function. Conclusion:During hospitalization, maternal cesarean section, primipara, the less-educated,the flow of household and non-breastfeeding mothers influence the quality of life. Maternal postpartum depression seriously affect the quality of life. The physiological function is the weakest in maternal quality of life, and the mental function is relatively weaker in maternal quality of life,so we should pay attention to the physiological function and mental func-tion of postpartum women.
