Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of modified ice compress in patients with maxillary sinus fenestration and bone graft implantation .Methods:A total of 100 patients with maxillary sinus fenestration and bone graft implantation were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 50 cases in each group.24 h after operation, the control group according to swelling position was used water ice compress ,while the observation group according to ice compress schedule was used 15%ethanol ice compress ,swelling and pain conditions of patients were compared between the two groups .Results:The 1st,3rd,7th day after the operation ,swelling and pain degrees in the observation group were significantly lower than that those in the control group (P<0.05).There was no statistically signifi-cant difference in bone absorption on one year after the operation and postoperative complication rate between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Modified ice compress can reduce swelling and pain after maxillary sinus fenestration ,bone graft and implant repair ,and can promote the recovery of the patients .
