Influence of Omaha System Nursing Mode on Quality of Life,Mental Status and Complications in Patients with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Undergoing Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the influence of Omaha system nursing mode on the quality of life,mental status and complications in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy.Methods:A total of 86 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,each with 43 patients.The control group was treated with routine nursing care,and the observation group was treated with Omaha system nursing mode.The quality of life scores,mental status scorse and complication rate were compared between two groups before and after nursing care.Results:After nursing,the observation group′s physical function,role function,social function,cognitive function,emotional function and overall quality of life scores were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After the nursing,the observation group′s evaluation scores of somatization,interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,hostility,phobia,obsessive-compulsive,paranoid and psychotic symptoms were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Omaha system nursing mode can be used to improve the quality of life,improve the mental status and reduce the incidence of complications in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy.
