Effect of Intensive Family Nursing Intervention on IGT Patients in Rural-urban Fringe Zone
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of intensive family nursing intervention on self management and glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT).Methods:A total of 280 patients with IGT were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(n=140).The observation group was given intensive family nursing intervention, while the control group only received health education. The changes of glucose and lipid metabolism indexes of two groups were measured and compared at enrollment and 6 months after the intervention. The self-management scale of Deborah was used to investigate the self-management level of two groups after 6 months. Results:The observation group's overall self-management level was significantly higher than that in the control group, and 4 dimensions scores including diet control, exercise compliance, blood glucose monitoring and foot care compliance were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05);6 months later, the observation group's fasting blood glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),TG,TC and LDL-C were significantly lower than those before the intervention(P<0.05),and the control group's HbA1c,TG,TC and LDL-C were significantly lower than those before the intervention(P<0.05).The observation group's FPG,HbA1c and TC were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The conversion rate of diabetes and IGT in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the observation group's conversion rate of normal glucose tolerance(NGT)was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:Intensive family nursing intervention can improve the self-management consciousness of patients with IGT,and have obvious advantages in the control of glucose and lipid metabolism and the incidence of diabetes.
