Analysis of the Current Situation and Factors of Self-directed Learning of Nursing Undergraduates

Abstract：Objective:To understand the current situation and related factors of self-directed learning of nursing undergraduate students,and to provide reference for nursing educators to improve teaching quality and improve the self-directed learning ability of nurs-ing students.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 500 nursing college students in 2 higher nursing colleges in Henan province by means of questionnaire and self directed learning scale ( SRSSDL) .Results:The total score of self directed learning ability of nursing undergraduates was(211.32 ±26.75),and the scores of interpersonal skills were the highest in the 5 dimensions(44.15 ± 6.55),while learning behavior is the lowest(40.26 ±6.55).The total score of self-directed learning ability of sophomores was higher than that of freshmen and juniors(P<0.05).Learning the relevant knowledge,learning resources,frequency to library,study time,op-tional professions,division of arts and sciences,professional attitude,student cadres are the main influencing factors of self-directed learning(P<0.05).Conclusion:The total score of self-directed learning ability of nursing undergraduate students is in the middle level, and has the ability of self-directed learning.Educators should take appropriate intervention measures to improve students′self-directed learning ability.
