Application of Swal owing Therapy Combined with Catheter Balloon Dilatation in Patients with Dysphagia after Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
Abstract:Objective:To explore the methods and effects of swallowing therapy combined with catheter balloon dilatation in patients with dysphagia after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods:A total of 60 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy in patients with dysphagia were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 30 cases in each group. The control group received routine treatment and rehabilitation methods, while the observation group received the swallowing therapy instrument therapy combined with catheter balloon dilatation of cricopharyngeal muscle on the basis of the control group. The intervention effects were com-pared between two groups. Results:After 2 and 4 weeks intervention, the observation group′s drinking water test ( WTDWT) scores, clinical efficacy and VFSS evaluation results were significantly better than those in the control group (P<0. 01). Conclusion:The combination of swallowing therapy instrument and catheter balloon dilatation can effectively promote the rehabilitation of patients with dysphagia after ra-diotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, reduce the incidence of aspiration and improve the clinical efficacy.
